Steve and I wanted to get out...but in the world of COVID-19 that isn't exactly easy. I figured a trip further east would help with fewer people out. I was hoping to see some early wildflowers. I do love this time of year when the world wakens from the long slumber of winter.

Steve and I arrived at the trailhead and found a few other cars. Nothing to alarm me (large crowds). Boots on we hiked up the canyon trail. Early on the crowds were good...not too many people out and easy to disperse. As the morning moved into afternoon the trail saw more people. For the whole day we were able to avoid close contact with others but it got increasingly difficult. It is apparent that people either are oblivious to the threat or just don't care.

There were few wildflowers out. Steve did manage to point out one solitary yellow bell.

Steve and I won't be hiking or travelling in the time of social distancing anytime soon. In hindsight, it was a mistake to travel this far for this hike and the probability of contact was too high.
