OK...I'll admit it...I'm bad at coming up with trip ideas lately. I feel like I've lost my hiking mojo. I wanted to show Steve something new. We'd been to Sunrise before...last year...out first date hike...I got sick and barfed...I'm sure I made quite the impression on him. He's still around :)

A friend suggested Fremont LO and since I've been there before, I knew that for not so much effort, the views pay off big time. The weather was kind of warm and I was afraid of pushing my luck in the heat so this trail seemed perfect.

There was no snow the whole way there. This time of year the last bits of deep snow still cling to Frozen Lake but the rest of the trail out to the lookout was on bare ground. There were lots of people out an about. Not something to complain about though...people just being happy enjoying their national park.

We got out to the lookout site and sine it was locked up, we didn't even bother to check it out. Lots and lots of people milling about though.

We stayed quite a while and a bump above the lookout. really was getting late...we headed back to the car. I was tempted to head out towards Dege Peak but...somehow...just didn't feel like it. It would have added a couple of hours to the day and being a Sunday...I just wanted to be home by a reasonable time. Those peaks aren't going anywhere...
