It has been a while since I've been out on a trail. For some reason...I'm just tired of the long drives lately. But...I knew this trail should have views, should have flowers, and if I felt good about the ridge over to Elbow Pk I could tag a new high point.

The lower section of the trail is steep. If follows a road for a bit and then it is steep trail uphill. In good conditions there are often lots of motorbikes out. Not today though, that part I couldn't figure out.

It was pretty darned warm though. A bit too warm for me. I skipped Yellow Hill on the way out wanting to head directly for the ridge over to Elbow. It actually wasn't bad. I felt more comfortable this time than the last time out this way. But the ridge top is a bit scrambly and me...I just don't want to take those kinds of challenges when I'm alone. I would have continued if I had a hiking partner. So instead...I found a nice spot along the ridge on a rock and hand a nice lunch. Then I retraced me route back down to the car.

The road to the Yellow Hills TH is actually in great shape. The road slump just before the TH from a few years ago is fixed. I had no problem getting my Jetta to the trailhead area.
