This was a very short trip. Yes, a long drive up to Mt Baker...but it has been a long time since we've seen this kind of snow so the drive wasn't really an issue.

We got to the upper parking area, sorted our gear out, and headed to the far end of the parking area. I've been to the area a number of times and we were looking to just have a fun day out in the snow. I was on snowshoes, Steve was on skinny skis. Given the amount of snow...I should have either picked a different route or a different groomed destination. Steve had some slow going with skinny skis. My bad.

It was still nice to be out. This amount of snow has been long overdue. The lack of it last winter just had me itching more for it this winter.

Powder was about 3+ feet deep. Even for me on was slow progress. I did my best to avoid the ski track but that wasn't always possible.

Our route was simply a loop trip around the lakes.
