Suzanne put the word out... A suggestion of Keystone Point or Swakane Pk. Eventually it was settled it would be Swakane. Weather west of the crest was wet and windy. East it was forecasted to be partly sunny and warm (nearly 60F).

Lots of cars and car shuttling. Barry and Suzanne (plus Gus) were local. Matt/Matt/Colleen were already on the east side and met up with us just outside of Wenatchee. GeoTom (plus Jasper) and I from north of Seattle, Elle (plus Izzy), Carla, Barb and Martin rounded out the rest of the crew.

Soaking wet and solid rain west of the crest. We all hoped the forecast for the east side would pan out. We all met in Wenatchee, consolidated cars a bit more, and then drove up 97A to the trailhead. Several cars parked there already.

We hiked by the gate and up the road we went. Paragliders were going aloft from a spot high up on the road. About 2miles up the road, at a switchback, we headed straight and steeply uphill heading directly for Pt 3923. Nothing too steep but getting over a cold, my lungs felt it. A couple of stops along the way at some snow patched were the 4 legged friends played around a bit. Then, more uphill...

Just shy of Pt 3923 we headed down to the saddle, crossed the old road, and then up the last bit of steepness to the top (Pt 4293, about 3.65mi and 2.5hr from the car).

We thought of taking a different route down and making a loop of the trip but in the end, we went down the same way we came up and we were back at the car around 3pm.

No snakes out...yet. A few buttercups were blooming though. It won't be too long before the big wildflower show. The west side of the ridges were snow free. The east side, still clinging to a bit of snow at higher elevations.

Temps were really nice. This was my first shorts and t-shirt trip of the year!!!

We thought of taking a different route down and making a loop of the trip but in the end, we went down the same way we came up.
