I love the arboretum in the Winter. You often think of winter as a season of various shades of grey (rain) and white (snow). the arboretum in the winter there is always color. Mid winter it's the witch hazel trees that are exploding with color as if covered in a thin blanket of fireworks. Late winter it's the camellias. Well the witch hazels were all done but the camellias were pretty happy as was I.

Obligations in town and bad weather generally in the mountains all weekend meant I'd need to be creative to find something to do. I reached out to Deb who was in. Cynthia was also interested since it's near where she lives (I'm jealous). We met at the visitor center and then wandered around for a few hours.

Seattle really is lucky to have such a beautiful little gem nestled inside the city.
