I've hiked out part of the way along the south end of White Bluff. I've never been to the north. Late march has me hankering to head east and escape the dark skies and snow. I always tend to head out a bit too early...before the flower show starts. That's OK. Lots of cool stuff to see out here anyway.

It's a long drive out to the "TH". Really, it's barely a wide spot on the "road". I pulled off, found a bit of a trail that headed up the ridge. Must have been a game trail though because when I finally gained a hundred feet or so I could clearly see the trail I'd somehow missed.

The trail follows the edge of a cliff/bluff along the east bank of the Columbia River, nearly opposite Handford Reach. It's starts out in grasses and then quickly transitions into sand. I hadn't expected that. Pretty cool though. It was windy when I was out there so good, bad, or unfortunate, there would be no lens changing on the camera. A few wildflowers had started to appear, mainly yellowbells.

I'd like to return again and hike a bit further next time.
