I love wildflower season in WA State. In May...I often tire of the snow and heading east and over the crest to the desert part of the state, it's a real treat to see the Spring wildflower show.
It was raining in town so it wasn't hard to convince someone to head east.

Lots of flowers to see...bitterroot being the one we were happiest to see.

After wandering around Whiskey Dick we decided to head over to Reecer Creek Road. Wow...incredible. Tons of flowers, balsamroot, lupine, irises... We drove the road until we hit snow (5400'). More and more flowers...paintbrush, grass widows, bigheaded clover, desert parsley, death camas, glacier lilies, phlox, bluebells... We never had to walk very far from the car to see the color.

Great day, easy trip, TONS of color!
