Stats: 8.32mi, 1128' gain (round trip)

This was my first try at snowshoeing since surgery earlier in the year. Didn't go so bad :)

Jim picked the old lookout site. It would mean a mile or so on groomed road, and easy grade most of the way. Perfect!

We parked at 29 Pines...end of where the road was plowed and were moving just after 9am. At 1.3mi we reached the junction with Stafford Creek Rd. From here we continued another .8mi up the road to Standup Creek. From here, we continued north up the old road and then when the road crosses the creek (3.08mi), it turns and heads back south and continues a gentle climb uphill. At about 4.09mi the old road ends and then it's a short bit of uphill to the old lookout site at 4.16mi (3758').

More information on the lookout: A L-4 cab was built in 1935 and abandoned in 1966.
