My second overnight trip by myself with the new knees. This one would be a bit more vertical than my first. I wanted something safe, I knew I'd find others around.

I parked at the Damfino Lks trailhead, headed up and around the lakes, then the easy climbing trail up to Excelsior Pass. I dropped my pack and looked around for a good campsite. I found an established on in the trees right at the pass. I set the tent up, stowed some gear, and then repacked for the short hike up Excelsior Pk (Pt 5712). It was a little steep towards the top but the knees did awesome!

On the way down there was another hiker headed up. From his vantage he got a good view at the knees. It has only been about 19 weeks since the surgery and lets just say...the scars are pretty noticeable! Guy asks some questions and asks "does your doctor know you are out here" to which I told him yes and he approves!
