What to say about yet another trip to Boulder River???

Cold...it was COLD! It actually snowed on this trip.

Wet...it's always wet on Boulder River. What else is new :)

Blowdown...there is a huge blowdown in about 1.5 miles in. HUGE! Jim crawled up the hillside (muddy) and up onto the log and it came down on top of and following the trail...for about 100 feet. Incredible. I didn't want to risk slipping on the muddy hillside to climb around the behemoth with the new knees so this was our premature turning around point for the day. Jim walked the length of the log and said just beyond this one tree, there was yet another that clocked the trail in the same way.

There is always something interesting going on up this trail. It's one of my favorite lowland hikes that can be done just about year around. Best done when it's raining too so the falls are cranking!
