I wanted...needed a larch trip...

Feeling a bit down, I headed out solo. I arrived at the TH and was surprised to see so few cars. A fresh dusting of a few inches of snow covered the area.

I started up the trail and found the first bit (east of Pt 6828) quite icy. Taking is slow, the trail got better in short time.

I bumped into a couple of hunters in the area and I stopped to chat. One of the gents mentioned he'd had a total knee replacement done on one knee and was so pleased with the results. Knowing that was what I faced times two, I was encouraged.

I continued up the trail and took my good old time getting over to Grasshopper Pass. Lots of time to stop, enjoy the fall color (gold) and occasional flurries.

Good day to be out...any day outside is a good day...
