We were on the lookout for a new desert hike to do. I'm not sure why we picked Hardy but it turned out to be a nice choice.

We parked at the TH which is actually just a pull off along Wenas Rd and we parked next to the gate. This side of the road has elk wintering season and this day was the first weekend the area was open. We walked through the gate, crossed the creek, and then continued up the system of roads the heads right up Hardy Canyon. It was mid May but already it was pretty warm.

Lots of flowers out. This is one of the better wildflower hikes in the area, as least I think so.

We only made it up a bit over 2 miles up the road before turning around. Thanks to friends who are willing to drive a couple of hours so I could do a nice short hike :)
