Joe and I met up for a GREAT trip. I'm not sure what first caught my interest on this trip. Maybe that is was the Sunrise area of MRNP and I knew the views would be incredible. We weren't disappointed.

We started out at Sunrise, walked the road to the walk in campground, then headed up to Emmons Overlook. Wow. Wow. WOW! Lots of shutter delay here. The trail continues west from the overlook and climbs a bit as it heads over the gentle ups and downs of the Burroughs peaks...First Burroughs...Second Burroughs...Third Burroughs. The view from Pt 7828 down and over to the Winthrop Glacier are incredible.

After a nice lunch break on Burroughs, we headed to the low point between Pt 7828 and Pt 7402 and from this "draw" headed north, aiming directly for Skyscraper Mtn. It's easy terrain. There is a boot path up Skyscraper. Steep but still easy terrain. We headed back down to Skyscraper Pass after leaving the top and then headed out via Berkeley Park and Frozen Lake making a nice big squiggly loop trip for the day.
