Kim and I headed out on an adventure for Flat Stanley.

First day we did an easy hike up Goat Peak to visit Lightning Bill and the Lookout. Awesome! Lightning Bill was there and Flat Stanley signed into the lookout register. The golden color of the larches was well on it's way to lighting up the area.

Second day we backtracked a bit along Hwy 20 to Ruby Creek and hiked that trail for a bit.

More information on the lookout: The current structure, built in 1950, is a 15' timber L-4. It replaced a cupola cabin built in 1923. It is still staffed every summer (go Lightning Bill!). The structure is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
