Ingalls Lake is a great trip to do in early October. The larch trees in Headlight Basin are golden and with the granite peaks that surround the area...it's gorgeous.

Snow arrived a bit early this year. Not too early to prevent a trip. It was interesting though seeing the bright gold color of the larches against the snow white backdrop.

FYI...there are party size restrictions past Ingalls Pass. No groups larger than 12 (and no coordination between groups to skirt the party size restrictions). No dog allowed either. I with the FS would post rangers to this area during early October because of the countless number of people who ignore the regulations.
