Ace joined me on a trip up Grindstone.

We headed up the hot and steep Chatter Creek trail into the basin. On the far side the trail continues up to a gap on Icicle Ridge. near the head of Chatter Creek, at the end of one switchback before the ridge, we found a faint boot path leading over to Grindstone. We followed it traversing uphill to the east of the north ridge. We found a spot where we could see a route that headed over to the north side of the peak and into an upper bouldery basin. From there it was a fairly easy scramble to the summit.

Lots of summit time this day. Good views too. Clear blue skies on a hot and sunny day.

Eventually, time to head out going back the way we came.

More information on the lookout: This is in the Spring & Fisher book on lookout sites. I'll have to do more digging to find more info since there isn't much online.
