It was time to take the road bike on the road... I was a bit nervous about this...it's been a while...

Another early start (about 9:30am) and I headed down into the valley. It is nice living on the edge of an urban area with access to farm country. Instead of heading down the steep and windy Seattle Hill Road, I took a slightly different route, heading down 51st Ave SE. I thought less traffic and less steep which is probably was but...lots and lots of broken glass on the road. I got down to Lowell Larimer Rd and headed east and then I took Marsh Rd to head over and up to Snohomish. Just before the bridge on Airport Way I took a left onto Lowell Snohomish River Rd and headed up to Everett. Then I was back on Lowell Larimer Rd biking on a nice country road past lots of farms. Then...I had to pay the piper. I was back and my turnoff and it was time to head steeply back uphill. The steepest part of the lower section of road I ended up stopping twice. First time because I didn't have the shifting down pat. Second time I was just tired. Eventually the grade uphill eases up a bit and I was fine. I took a nice break at my neighborhood Starbucks and then biked the last little bit home.
